How To Be "Textual"

A lot of guys dismiss the use of text messages as unnecessary and believe that texting should never be used in lieu of proper phone conversation. Despite this opinion, rising statistics suggest that text messaging as a communication tool is growing rapidly. Nine years ago, in 2000, about 17 billion messages were sent. By 2004 that number had risen to 500 billion. This equals about 100 text messages for every person in the world!

A healthy percentage of those billions of texts were likely sent out by women, so while it's clear every guy who is dating should embrace this communication tool and put it to work, the question of what to say remains. A text of "Hey what's up?" leaves a woman in the awkward situation of creating the value for this interaction. Instead of asking these open ended questions, you should use your text to bring value to her day.

Imagine that the woman you're about to text is sitting at her workplace bored. It should be your goal to change her state and put a big smile on her face. Be quirky, fun and share off the wall observations from your day, e.g. "I just saw a guy wearing a fanny pack! Can you believe that?"  Another powerful tool that helps to reinforce her memory of meeting you is to recall an inside joke which you two shared. If you gave her the nickname dork, for example, begin your text exchange with "Hey dork! I bet you are operating at a level of 100% dorkiness today."

Remember, the ultimate goal of your texting is to give a further display of your fun and confident personality to bridge into a very successful phone conversation. To ensure this result, keep these two guidelines in mind:

* Initial texts should stick right to the point. Long messages convey neediness and lessen the punch of humor.

* Proper grammar is a turn on for women, write intelligently and always proof read the text before you send it.

A well played text conversation will often cause a woman to hint about a meet up with texts like "What are you up to?" Treat this as a major signal that she's interested in hanging out. Have a strong frame and lead the interaction with responses such as "We're going on a picnic and you are making the cookies!" or "We're going shopping! We need to get you some new clothes!"

If an invitation is ever denied because she is too busy that day, use the classic line, "Break your plans. I'm more fun." The point of this isn't to really convince the woman to go out, but it will likely get a laugh and increase the chance she will hang with you next time. When your invitation is accepted, set up a time bridge via text to talk to her about logistics "I'll call you in a few and we'll make our detailed plan about this picnic. I take my picnicking seriously!"  A few playful and thoughtful thumb strokes on your cell phone can brighten her boring day and excite her for your next meet up. When you display your personality with the right words, you'll soon see what starts as textual quickly escalates to sexual.
